Lost Boys 2 Logo

You know, I’m just one of those people who, no matter how much I LOVED the first “Lost Boys” movie, can’t even imagine why on earth they’re doing another one. To me it smells of a gigantic waste of time and energy. Add on top of that the perpetual circus surounding the Cory’s involvement, and you’ve got “Giant Mess In The Making” written all over this project. I’m pretty sure its not even going to get a theatrical release.

Still, a new Lost Boys 2 movie is on the way and some people are looking forward to it. With that in mind, the folks over at ShockTillYouDrop have delivered unto us the new theatrical logo for Lost Boys 2. Seems pretty much in the spirit of the original artwork. Shame the movie itself probably won’t be. Take a look:

  1. (Type your comment here. Make sure you’ve read the commenting rules before doing so)Does anyone here know who DEPECHE MODE are?Well the lead singer of DEPCHE MODE has just came out with a NEW SOLO ALBUM called “HOURGLASS” & the reason why I bring this up is because I listen to the album & realy thought that a song called “21 DAYS” should be on the NEW “LOST BOYS” MOVIE! IF you listen to this song you will now why,but you have to listen to it to the very end! It has the same vibe as “cry little sister” & plus it has a dark kinda scary vampire vibe aswell! This song should truly be in the sequel! In the song it sings that “The sun is dissapearing on the horizon, you realy should come take a look”I am telling you this song “21 DAYS” By:Dave Gahan Lead Singer of Depeche Mode from his NEW SOLO ALBUM “HOURGLASS” Would make an excellent addition to the Lost boys sequel & the lost boys sound track!PLEASE LOOK UP THIS SONG & LISTEN TO THE WHOLE SONG ESPECIALY THE VERY END WHEN THE CHANTING & HOWLING TAKES PLACE IT TRULY SOUNDS GOTHIC & SCARY WHICH WOULD BE PERFECT FOR THIS FILM!PLEASE RESPOND & TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!IF YOU LIKE THE SONG SPREAD THE NEWS & WHO KNOWS MAYBE THEY CAN AT LEAST ADD THE SONG FOR THE CREDITS OR SOMETHING!THANKS!

  2. call me old but I loved Lost Boys. I’m cool with a new movie. I think to expect any Lost Boys move to be a big hit is a bit silly. Cult classics are not generally born as box-office mega hits and they rarely birth box-office hits. The movie was great because it sucked the viewer in. If I can drink a beer and either get sucked in again or at least be amused by seeing the Corys all grown-up in the re-make, then I am good.

  3. No “2” in there, eh? Maybe that’s a smart move. They can make $$ off the brand name, but don’t want the masses to wake up knowing that it is about 20 years later.

I don’t think it will go theatrical either, I think WB will promote it the same way they promoted the DTV sequel for House On Haunted Hill…in other words, having the *intention* of going right to video but still giving it some decent promotion at least in a viral marketing plan.

I also think the lack of a number suggests that should the franchise continue in some form (don’t laugh-if another studio can toss us tomatos called Children Of The Corn 9 and Hellraiser 15 or whatever number they are on, Lost Boys can play catch up) and folks won’t know (or have forgotten, supposedly) that the first Boys was released in 1987.

*My* prediction on this? Right to DVD. It will be a success. There won’t be a Lost Boys 3, however, since Michael Bay will announce the remake in two years hence. You know he will.
