BRIMSTONE:

Brimstone is the right kinda western mystery movie, intense. Elle Fanning has been garnering all the attention lately, but her sister Dakota reminds us that’s she’s still around and doing really nice work. Guy Pearce plays a preacher who is evil and ruthless to the core and torments Liz (Fanning). Liz isn’t one to fold and endure, so she fights back the best she can. I liked this film and appreciated the strong female character that Fanning plays. Pearce does a hell of a job as the intimidating preacher. This is a western on the surface, but a definite well played thriller to the core.
