Recently I had the chance to be part of a panel that interviewed pop sensation and actress Hailee Steinfeld. Still a teenager, yet she’s achieved the highest levels of success that many strive for in the entertainment industry. Hailee was in Chicago to promote her latest film The Edge of Seventeen. Okay, so large group roundtable interviews are a bit awkward and not ideal, but this was a great group of critics that asked some really good questions. As you heard Hailee was very passionate in her responses. I found her to be very engaging, mature and outspoken. I can’t imagine what it must be to be a teen that’s a worldwide star, so I found it refreshing when she talked about the things she likes to do to chill out. She sounds very normal and grounded, even though she lives a really busy life. Overall, Hailee was as personable as you could hope a big star would be. At 19, she gets it. The movie is terrific.
