“Hands of Stone” the biopic that tells the life story of boxer Roberto Duran is out in theaters this weekend. In the movie Robb Skyler plays the legendary announcer Howard Cosell. I had an opportunity to chat with Robb about the movie prior to the release. Robb discussed the backstory of the real life fighters (he has a lot of boxing knowledge). MY TAKE:
I found Robb to be super knowledgeable on boxing and really knew the history of Roberto Duran. I found it pretty interesting that he didn’t want to replicate Howard Cosell and wanted to just be himself while doing justice playing the iconic announcer. Rob is just one of those gracious and interesting people to talk to, that makes you want to listen to the way he describes things and the knowledge he brings to the table. I’m looking forward to seeing him in many more films.
