Underworld and Resident Evil had a comic con panel that we couldn’t attend

Ahhh Underworld and Resident Evil. The 2 only, and completely unexpected, sustainable female led action franchises in film today. I honestly did not foresee either of these movies getting sequels let alone lasting the test of time to turn into downright franchises. We’re on our 5th Underworld film! FIVE! And Resident Evil, where do I even begin? That franchise immediately alienated video game fans by being led by some chick named Alice instead of Jill. It’s the little things like that which surprise me that these movies were able to pull an upset and sustain for all this time.

That being said, I REALLY wanted to go to their panels during the New York Comic Con and see if I could get an opportunity to cut the fan line and ask my own questions surrounding the movie. That never happened because the studios didn’t provide us with press passes and I’d rather slit my own wrists then get in a Comic Con line for a major panel. There’s nothing but sadness and dead kittens in those lines. Even the moderators for panels will joke ‘And I’m sure everyone in here took a shower today’. Nope, not gonna happen. But just because I didn’t attend doesn’t mean that they weren’t kind enough to provide us with passes doesn’t mean we won’t cover and review their films free of charge.

First up is this new Underworld trailer that was released for the convention:

And next, Resident Evil!

That’s all I’ve got. Maybe next time…?
