  1. Labyrinth…. The bulge is ever so intriguing, if you've seen the film you will know what I'm talking about ;) other then that the worm ('ello I'm a worm) never fails to make me giggle.

  2. "Logan's Run" – what a film – I remember seeing it when I was very young ad being really scared about being 30 years old and ending up on "The Carousel" – thankfully I'm well past that age now and I haven't been called to the slaughter – interesting angle on the overpopulation of the world though!

  3. National Lampoon's Animal House, totally ridiculous but a wonderful reminder of my youth. A time of having fun with no worries & just enjoying life.

  4. Whatever Happened to Baby Jane – Bette Davies and Joan Crawford – what a pairing! It's a fabulous black comedy that is very relevant to today's society as it demonstrates the destructive aspect of fame. Bette Davies – Baby – is the famous child star still seeking celebrity status in her elder years. Joan Crawford's character, Blanche, is the jealous sister who envies her young sisters success but their roles reverse when Blanche finds fame later on and Baby fades into the background. From there things turn sinister and Blanche is at the mercy of her sister!

  5. Mrs Doubtfire – Not so old school maybe but definitely a classic. It's such a feelgood film, reminds me of when my daughter (now 20) was born and is set in one of my favourite cities, San Francisco. It's one of the few films I can think of that I can watch over and over again and never get bored of.

  6. The Goonies. The first time I watched it I was only young. After watching I came to realise that although everyone looked different and had different personalities that if we work together we could get through anything. It changed the way I looked at things and made my teenage years a lot easier. I wasn't so consumed with the latest trend and fitting in. I enjoyed being me.

  7. Analyze That and Analyze this – Robert De Niro was absolutely hilarious as Paul Vitti and the whole film had me laughing from beginning to end. The way that he portrayed the character was brilliant with the witty one liners that were unintentional from the character but intentional from the writers :) LOVED THEM and will be watching them again and again.

  8. I'm a bit of a goofball so for me it's got to be.
Goonies the family classic, it's amazingly good fun you see.
    Gadgets, laughter, fun and games.
This is the way good movies were made.
Super storylines and a loveable cast.
Watching that movie is a blast from the past.
I never get tired of it, it never gets old.
Movies like that were the best stories told.
So 'Hey You Guys' don't be silly.
Join the adventure and lets find 'One eyed Willy'.

  9. Dangerous Minds – Michelle Pfeiffer is spectacular in this film, where she is a teacher in a poor inner city school. She wins the kids around with her wonderful approach to teaching. It has it's sad moments but it's a really strong and powerful film, with a few funny moments too. Definitely one to watch if you missed it first time around.

  10. To Kill A Mockingbird. It was on recently really late at night but I couldn't switch it off despite having seen it countless times. A glorious example of film making with superb performances by all, especially the heavenly Gregory Peck. It is a story of deep humanity but also it is so incredibly atmospheric with the use of shadow and suggestion to illustrate the children's POV that makes it more disquieting then many modern films can achieve with CGI and endless effects. Few films manage to live up to a classic book but I think this is a perfect example.

  11. I recently watched the goonies (for the 100th time) its a classic and I think everyone, adults included , would love to be in a club like the goonies, adventures and friendship galore x.

  12. All About Eve because it has a superb cast who are all on sparkling form especially Bette Davis. It is full of deliciously caustic one-liners. A young actress insinuates herself into the life of an actress and causes trouble for her career and with her friends. As Davis' character 'Margo' says "Fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy night".

  13. Has to be Bridget Jones Diary – I have watched it so many times I quote it word for word in social situations all the time. I have also worn my DVD copy out! It stands the test of time and single people will always relate to it – smug married won't! I am Bridget Jones and I want something more extra-ordinary than that! Happy Birthday dear what-his-name! It's a real fight! This is Bridget Jones searching for… a TV!

  14. Sadly for me it's the Austin Powers movies. They take me back to being a teenager and chuckling at all the silly jokes and innuendo! It's total nostalgia (although not to the 1960s; I'm not THAT old.), and I still find myself laughing at the same jokes my friends and I found hilarious when we were 14! Thankfully I've not quite re-started my habit of using the word "groovy" (YET!)

  15. has to be Down Periscope, its just so funny and cheesy. I love sci fi I love the ideas and the fantasy of it yet the simple humour, cast and non-special effects of Down Periscope makes it a classic I could watch time and again.

  16. Mine has to be Dumb and Dumber – I'm not a huge Jim Carey fan to be honest but he is nothing short of brilliant in this – it is such a funny film. Jeff Daniels is brilliant too! One of the very few that has me crying with laughter every time I watch it.

  17. well for me it has to be THE GOONIES – I love chunk and I could watch it over and over – I love it and my daughter loves it – it never gets old and seems to get better with age ( like me LOL ).
it has a classic story kids are in peril, find a dead body, are being hunted by thieves who are after their treasure map, and fall into all kinds of trouble, but in the end they save the day – simply brilliant :)

  18. For me it has to be To Kill A Mockingbird (1962). It has the hard hitting themes of deep south racism and love and hate in equal measures. I would have put Crash down also but it is 2004. A modern twist on similar themes.

  19. My favourite Old School movie has got to be 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU! Mostly because Heath Ledger is in it. I love his movies! And this movie is so adorable, really reminds me of school days.

  20. PASSPORT TO PIMLICO is one of my favourites. This old black and white film comes with a big touch of the 1950s and so many old favourite faces. The black and white adds not detracts. It is a little window back into the past when the war was over and people were trying to get back to normal and have a laugh.
