V/H/S 2 has a poster

Inside a darkened house looms a column of TVs littered with VHS tapes, a pagan shrine to forgotten analog gods. The screens crackle and pop endlessly with monochrome vistas of static—white noise permeating the brain and fogging concentration. But you must fight the urge to relax: this is no mere movie night. Those obsolete spools contain more than just magnetic tape. They are imprinted with the very soul of evil.

I did not watch the first V/H/S. Horror isn’t my typical genre of choice so I tend to just share the posters/trailers of films that I personally think look interesting without commentary. The only reason this film is catching my interest is because there’s a sequel, and most of these low budget VOD films typically end up as one-off’s.  Since this one has passed the test of an initial outing, I’m wondering what I missed and if I should pay attention to this upcoming sequel.

I know there are some decent Horror films among you. Should I pay attention to these films or wait for something thats picked up in mainstream? I’m typically into suspense but I try to avoid films that are labeled ‘torture porn’.  A good suspense is fun, but just watching blood and guts for the sake of blood and guts does not appeal to me.
