Funny or Die is making a Steve Jobs movie starring Justin Long

With the official release of the Steve Jobs biopic starring Ashton Kutcher being April 19, the comedy website Funny or Die announced that they will be doing their own feature which will be released just four days before on April 15. The film will star Justin Long and unlike their usual short comedy clips, this will be a 60 to 75 minute parody of biopics surrounding Steve Jobs.

Funny or Die, the comedy Web site, said over the weekend that it had made its own Jobs movie — “iSteve” — and planned to unveil it online on April 15. A biopic poking fun at biopics, “iSteve” stars Justin Long (“New Girl,” “DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story”) in the title role. At 60 to 75 minutes, the movie is the longest project to date for Funny or Die, which generally features bite-sized videos.

Funny or Die has some heavy hitters backing their site and there’s a good chance that this film will bring some laughs and also stir up some controversy with the people who find it tasteless to poke fun at Jobs’ life. Justin Long has been in many Apple product commercials so it seems fitting that he would take the role and I also think he can be pretty funny at times. What do you think of a biopic parody releasing before an actual biopic has even been released?

First and foremost, Ryan Brown is a fan. He has been an avid fan of both the theater and cinema since an early age and his passion for both has been continually growing ever since. When dissecting a film, he focuses on all elements of film-making including some fan/cult factors. He believes that character development is the foundation of a good film and usually starts his analysis of a film from there moving forward. His writing style may be influenced by his background of narrative and argumentative studies in the subject, but he tends to enjoy a more conversational style to better interact with the readers, unlike some other pretentious and pompous writers.
