Actors up for Drax the Destroyer in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

We recently spoke about the rumor that Joseph Gordon-Levitt may be up for the role of Peter Quill in the upcoming “Guardians of the Galaxy” film. The latest casting rumor deals with the role of Drax the Destroyer and three actors possibly up for the part.

ComicBookMovie.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned the names of three actors who are currently battling for the role of ‘Drax The Destroyer’ in James Gunn’s Guardians Of The Galaxy feature film. A source very close to production has let us know three faces who want to take on this titan, as well as a name that Marvel is “still high on” for Star-Lord.

According to a source, Isaiah Mustafa, Brian Patrick Wade and former WWE Superstar Dave Bautista are all in negotiations with Marvel for the role of ‘Drax’ in Guardians Of The Galaxy. Dave Bautista recently starred in RZA’s Man With The Iron Fists, Isaiah Mustafa is known as ‘The Old Spice Guy’, while Brian Patrick Wade is known for 2006’s The Guardian.

If these rumors are true they are obviously looking for an actor that fits the character’s physique first and foremost. The choices would be between Isaiah Mustafa (The Old Spice Guy), Dave Bautista (WWE/Man With The Iron Fists), and Brian Patrick Wade (The Guardian). I’m indifferent when it comes to choosing the role, so this rumored casting list does not affect me as much as it may affect other big fans.
