How much time has passed in Transformers 4

With Transformers 4 news starting to pick up with the casting of Mark Wahlberg, and the debut of the nifty logo at the top of this page, some folks are anxious to find out what details are actually set in stone and what exactly might be in store with the new film. Is it a reboot? Is Wahlberg going to play an older Sam Witwicky? Will we be blessed with another stellar performance from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley? I can’t answer all of that but what we can now confirm is the amount of time that will have passed since the destruction of Chicago in the Transformers: Dark Side of The Moon thanks to promotion master Michael Bay:

“The movie is going to continue four years from the attack on Chicago, which was in the last movie. It’s going to have the same lineage, but it’s going in a full new direction. It actually feels very natural how it’s going in that direction… We’re doing a lot of things that are really going to make it fresh and feel new.”

I have no idea why he even releases these tidbits other than to get the forum folks in a frenzy. This film is supposed to be the springboard for a new trilogy of films and will take place and have some loose continuity to the previous trilogy. Clearly some changes are in store with the loss of LeBeouf and the gain of Wahlberg but other than the time difference and the new lead character we not pretty much nothing. That’s all for now…
