Terry Crews tries to rationalize the PG-13 rating for ‘The Expendables 2’

It’s no secret that most of the internetz is none too happy with this PG-13 rating that’s being slapped onto the Expendables 2. You see it’s not Chuck Norris’ fault that the producers agreed to a PG-13 rating it’s because of the children.

“It’s PG-13. Do you really think only men 40 and over saw the first one? The kids bought tickets to ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ and walked right into ‘The Expendables.'”

He went on warn movie-goers that even though “boobs and blood” are not in the sequel, “[if you don’t see the movie,] you will miss the greatest thing you’ve ever seen.”

There’s a lot I can say about this, and I will. Firstly I don’t understand the justification of altering the scenes depicted in film simply because children sneak into movies. That’s borderline stating that there shouldn’t even BE any R-rated movies in order to protect the children. Kids have been sneaking into R-rated movies for decades and most turn our just fine. Hell, I’m willing to bet Terry Crews himself snuck into a few and guess what? He’s a successful actor. Don’t penalize the movie or the audiences willing to pay to see the movie but instead penalize those responsible for the lack of supervision.

Second, where the hell are these kids’ parents? Where are the employees of the theaters who are supposed to prevent this type of crap from happening? It’s not ethical to allow kids to totally screws up box office numbers by inflating “Eat, Pray, Love” when those figures belong to an R-rated movie like the Expendables. We already have a difficult time proving that R-rated films are successful as it is.

Third: I could be reading way too much into this statement. Maybe. But most of my apprehension and second guessing is due to the fact that his arms are bigger than my head and he could probably use my body as dental floss which is why I’ll never post my personal address on this site. 1. Okay, so if kids have already seen the first movie, isn’t the damage already done? I applaud them for taking a risk and slapping their adult audience in the face, but people jumping into the series aren’t going to start with the second, family friendly film, they’ll watch the first one (with all of it’s nudity and foul language) just to get familiar with the characters.
