…a new animated TV action adventure series with Stan Lee called The Governator, today the former Governor has announced at the MIPTV today in Cannes that not only will his project The Governator be an animated series, but the plan is also to turn it into a 3D feature film. According to the former governor the movie will be ready for an early 2013 release.

I shouldn’t have expected anything less. Obviously Schwarzenegger likes to do things big. When he wanted to govern he didn’t choose puny Rhode Island he chose the great state of California. If he’s making a comic book he’s not getting anybody to slap their name on his likeness he’s getting the biggest name, arguably, in comic book history to get involved and if he’s going to make a splash with his return to the movie entertainment world then he’s not being held into only 2Ds.

If this news alone isn’t enough to get you exhausted of all things Governator for the day, then lets take a look at the teaser trailer released for the 2012 animated show.

I like the art style. I like the implied action. I like The Governator. This one is overflowing with the fun stuff that made me appreciate him as a kid with some interesting changes for a new generation. I can easily picture my kids liking this one and giving me an excuse dragging me to the theaters for the live action counterpart. This belongs on the radar.

  1. This choice makes sense considering Arnolds love for playing kids-Rolemodel-characters. That said, the teaser is still a frightening piece of garbage. Do they really assume our kids are this retarded? I’d rather have my children watch Thundercats.

  2. What the heck did I just watch? Mutated Arnold Schwarzenegger cartoon variant with Black Eyed Peas butchering of a decent song? Who the heck got that idea?

  3. wow, im kind of exciting about this but at the same time, i’m an animator, and they broke a huge rule already in the character design. His superhero costume is so ridiculously detailed, it must be a huge pain to animate by hand. Although they pulled it off for this trailer, using short cuts and stuff, i’m sure its going to be a thorn to the side of the animators who will have to animate his character in action sequences every week…

  4. Well not much of a disguise if he is trying for a secret identity as a super hero. The name also implies who it is, just sounds dumb to me and I also hated the music in this trailer.
