The ‘Bill and Ted 3’ script is DONE

Don’t doubt the Keanu man as he has come through BIG with his previous belief and statements that a Bill and Ted 3 movie will actually get made in our lifetime. Oh yeah dude, this one is going to become a reality as reports are stating that the script is completed and in the hands of the needed.

We kicked around the idea over the years and had always thought if we could make something that was as kind of genuine in spirit as the originals and without falling prey to kind of retro cynicism or something that was unnecessary, it would be worth doing… [T]he truth is that, yeah, we have finally hit upon an idea that we think is pretty great.

When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn’t happened… So they’ve now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there’s an element of time and they have to go back.

I really want to hear that righteous song that changes the world, and am saddened that George Carlin won’t be able to listen along with us. I had once thought the possibility of a Bill and Ted sequel had as much of a chance of being produced as a 3rd Ghostbusters movie but I’m grateful to change my tune. I’m still curious about what they may do with regard to the Rufus character that was immortalized by George Carlin. By no means do I even think that the role can’t be recast but I’m sure the topic is internet-debatable.

  1. the first bill and tedd rocked

the second one was weak and i dident like it

the third one in my opinion is ?????

it could be awsome and it could be crap

but im one of the people who will see it regardless

  2. Does anyone else read plots like these and immediately start thinking about the problems and potential visual flaws that you’re going to see when they shoot their “younger selves”?

I think this is why I’m not a huge fan of going backwards in a story line but that seems to be what a lot of the studios are jumping on the bandwagon with right now.

    Men in Black 3
    Bill & Ted 3

What’s up with going backwards in a 3rd film in a franchise recently.

    1. The only potential problems I could see is if they use digital to young-ify the same actors (unless they find an even better way of pulling it off). If they use look-alike actors that work well enough it could be very good.

Men In Black 3 is the only other film that I can think of that is doing this “younger self” thing aside from what we just read. I hardly think two films is a “trend” or “what’s up”.

And of course we don’t even know for sure they would run into their younger selves. They might travel time to learn from other great musicians in history. Since they figure learning guitar wasn’t enough since they didn’t end up writing the legendary song.

      1. Xmen 3, opening scene and end of Wolverine movie, showing Xavier and Magneto as younger men… is all im saying.

It was all make up right? They did an amazing job making those 2 old farts looks super young. It can happen.

      2. Dumb and Dumberer (prequel/sequel) was another one kinda.

Fell Flat on it’s ass too.

this seems like a bad idea.and the last thing I saw the blond guy do was some cheesy bad special effects thing (from the 90’s) and POOF! he kinda vanished.

so……..I’m sure he’s pretty stoked to make another and all.

        IDK.

    1. Because of Bill Murray. Time and time members of the cast and crew have tried to get it off the ground, mainly Aykroyd. But Murray who doesn’t believe in sequels claiming they’re never as good as the first one. However, he apparently had no issue with revisiting Garfield a second time, when one could argue that it would seem nothing could be WORSE than the first one. I would bet good money that had someone else been cast as Venkman oh so many years ago, and everything else was the same (success, pop cult status, public reception, etc), the third one would have been made years ago.
