Still searching for next Bourne

It seems that the studios are getting closer and closer to finding a leading man to take over the Bourne franchise in the upcoming spinoff ‘The Bourne Legacy’ and have narrowed down their list to a select few.

Source: Deadline

The field is narrowing, and I’m told that the following are set so far to test: Joel Edgerton (The Thing), Dominic Cooper (The Devil’s Double), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) and Luke Evans (The Amateur American). There could be another name or two (Logan Marshall-Green comes up as speculation), but that’s who’ll test first week of April…
…Among the established names in the mix has been Shia LaBeouf (will not test, per insiders) and Battleship’s Taylor Kitsch (has met with Gilroy and is a possibility)

It appears that they’re not looking for a ‘big’ star to take the lead, which is fine, and I feel an unknown would be fine in the role as long as they are able to maintain the energy that made the original trilogy appreciable. I don’t have any preferences out of this short list as I’m sure anyone could pretend to put up a good fight with enough shaky cam and quick cuts.
