Lynda Carter Hints at Role in Wonder Woman Remake

Lynda Carter has been talking about a possible appearance on the new small screen remake of Wonder Woman staring Adrianne Palicki in the role Carter made famous.

But Carter admits to being in talks with writer/producer David E Kelley, but wont say for what.

Monsters and Critics quotes Carter:

‘I’ve talked to David E. Kelley, who’s a brilliant writer, a number of times and we’re hoping to plan something,’ she said. ‘But I cannot reveal.’

So its still in limbo, and we dont have a clue who she might play.

Personally I would like to see Carter suit her age and play Hippolyta, which was the Queen of the Amazons and mother to Diana. It would be fitting if they could tie it in, as in the comics as Hippolyta very briefly wore the mantle of Wonder Woman. That way they could make a double nod to both Carter’s role and the comics if she admits that she was once a warrior like Diana now assumes to be. Perhaps take digs at the costume.

How they would tie that into a TV version without a Paradise Island or Amazons, I don’t know. But I hope they keep that level of mythology to it and have Carter appear as Diana’s mother.

  1. Agree totally! Carter playing Hippolyta would serve to bridge the two tv shows together. Carter being Wonder Woman during WW2 and a couple decades beyond that maybe. And her daughter taking the mantle over now.

  2. Maybe she can play an alternate universe Wonder Woman or something.
There’s all these weird alternate universes in DC, I doubt David E. Kelly
would go for something like that though.
