Look at Russel Crowe as Jor-El

I’m a big fan of Russelle Crowe and was pleasantly surprised when he had been cast as Superman’s biological Kryptonian dad Jor-El. I had wondered how Z. Snyder’s rendition of the character would be portrayed and today we get a look at how the character will look on screen as Russell has been spotted on the set up The Man of Steel set in full Kryptonian garb no less!

It looks a lot like Superman’s outfit, which should come as little surprise to those of us keeping up with the DC comics reboot of their universe and character origins. Superman’s costume has a lot more root in the typical Kryptonian clothing than it had been prior to the reboot so it’s not too surprising to find that it’s similar to his costume.

I’m really liking the look and the amount of detail being incorporated into his outfit. The armor on him is a bit of a surprise since I believe Jor-El may still be a scientist in the reboot and teases the imagination as far as trying to understand why he needs armor.

    1. that’s what I was thinking but the design does give me that LoTR vibe. In the comics the new Superman costume is supposed to reflect the garb of typical Kryptonian fashion and I believe this reboot is related to his new origin.
