Flaming Hot Trailer: Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

Trailer Friday? Today I put up a trailer roundup but this had yet to hit the web.

Johnny Blaze is hiding out in eastern Europe when he is called upon to stop the Devil from taking human form.

Source: Sony Pictures

The this trailer only being a teaser is all rock’n’roll, flaming skulls and badass chains!
CiarĂ¡n Hinds as the Devil, this guy was a fantastic Ceasar in HBO’s Rome and again gave a great performance in Munich. On that basis I may give this franchise another chance, the first movie did not sit well with me at all.

Sound off, is there anyone out there REALLY looking forward to this sequel?

  1. You guys do realise this is not really a sequal, but rather a retelling. I think we’ll probably be getting a new origin through some sort of flashback scenes. They will most likely include Ciaran Hinds playing Satan and the a little back story into Idris Elba’s rogue Ghost rider watching brotherhood.

Liking the action in the trailer and the rider’s new look (no spikes or crappy CGI bike). However it does feel a lot lower in budget and I’m not sure I’m into that whole Eastern European setting!!

Maybe I’ll get a better feeling from the full trailer when it arrives???

  2. Nooooooo waaaaaaay! There’s a new Ghost rider film??? I’ve seen the first one and it was super cool already! How much cooler is this one! Wow, thank you very much for posting this, I wasn’t aware! No I know! Thank you 100x!

  3. The trailer definately got my attention, and thats what a good trailer does. Alas a good trailer does not always equal a good movie. Ill check it out, maybe in the theater, maybe ill wait for dvd…

    1. In the comics, it originally happened every night regardless. Then when he gained some mastery over it, he began changing any time, but only around evil. So they must be going in that direction.
Plus, I imagine night-time shots with so much CGI are difficult.

  4. I’m actually one of the few people who liked the first Ghost Rider, hard to believe it has been almost five years since the first one came out. So, I’ll definitely see this at a midnight premeire.

  5. I think it looks better than the first that’s for sure. But it’s only a teaser. Some of the action with the chains and such looks pretty bad ass imo. Just hope it isn’t as cheesy like in the first.

  6. Well I was, but… ahdunno. It looks like Neveldine and Taylor are playing it a tad too hard (surprise surprise). I mean, Ghost Rider himself actually had a character in the comics. But it feels like they’re using him as a silent, good-guy version of Freddy Krueger. Just a lot of gags between mutilations. Ahdunno. I guess we’ll see.
