First Image of Chris Evans as Captain America

The First image on Chris Evans in full Captain America WWII style costume is now online. Most of the pictures that we have seen so far are concept pictures or stunt men, this is the first picture of Evans in full on Gear.

Entertainment Weekly says

If it looks strikingly different than the classic Captain America get-up — bold colors, flimsy material, a mask with weird little wings — that’s definitely by design.

I have to say that I like it, it is simple and very old school. They did change some things hear and there but managed to keep the overall style of the comic intact. Also they have managed to not make it look cheap or like spandex.

Am I the only one that digs this?

    1. Yes, because what would have looked so much better on screen would have been a World War 2 era shiny spandex lycra catsuit with a print.

This is exactly how the outfit would have been if Cap was real. I wouldn’t want to see this if he was wearing a Spider-Man onepiece spandex outfit.

  1. i have been waiting for a full pic of chris in the capt america suit with the shield this looks friggin awsome can not wait till the first trailer comes out

  2. Looks great the only issue I have with it and thats Captain America has definatly gone Captain America in his underpants….

That suit must be either hot or very itchy…

  3. Just saw some trailer online, dont think it’s official though, suppossed to be a comic con trailer, looked good at first but then they seemed to show some Nazi stuff that looks like Hellboy-and then Hugo Weaving looked like he stepped off the Wolfman set. that and they Showed Hulk, Ironman etc. Fan Made?

  4. Everything looks just about perfect… except those gray straps on the upper torso. Kinda messes up the flag look I think. Should have been blue. Otherwise, perfect.

  5. I don’t like the shoulder padding with the dinky star but everything else looks three kinds of awesome. I see flame throwers on those Hydra boys I hope i get to see some charging stars through flames (insta boosh). I like this and the more and more I see I agree Evans was a good choice. Man the summer can’t come fast enough.

  6. I love it! It very accurate militarily. Myself being a veteran, that’s pretty much what it would look like if the military industrial complex was to design a patriot battle uniform for a Super soldier. From the body harness and connecting belt with magazine pouches, they pretty much got it right. I used to hate how much stuff the military would have us carry into combat. Gas mask, k-bar, alice pack, harness with all sorts of stuff on it. Have the time you could barely move and would have to lighten the load just to move efficiently. But they did a great job on this, I’m extremely impressed.

    1. Yeah the Steel pot looks small probably due to the fact that they had to make it into a mask to cover his eyes. I do like the dings and wear and tear on the helmet though. I also like the pen strips on the pants.

  7. It looks very cool, but there’s no American Flag anywhere. The colors are there… but interesting there’s no flag there. WW II you’d figure there would be a patch somewhere?

  8. I like it. Its WWII. They were limited on costumes so I’m glad he doesnt have a very futuristic looking costume that looks historically out of place. It’ll be cool if he has this costume on his origins story and then receives a new costume in the modern day Avengers movie, perhaps something fashioned by Tony Stark.

    1. I agree but then at the same time those robots or soldiers behind him seem very futuristic so, I don’t know; seemingly he could have made a better suit with better material if those robot like soldiers were around.

But again, I agree that it fits the era.

  9. i have to admit it looks pretty awesome. Im very excited for this movie. If this is the WWII costume i cant wait to see his getup in the present day world leading the avengers!
