Diego Klattenhood joins Pacific Rim

Guillermo Del Toro is hard at work on finally releasing a feature film and today we learn that another addition to the cast has been revealed but in an unspecified role.

“Homeland” star Diego Klattenhoof will join Guillermo del Toro’s giant monster movie “Pacific Rim.” No word on what his role is or what he’ll be doing though he is expected to appear in the opening scene of the film.

Not sure what’s happening in this opening scene but the premise of the film captured my attention ages ago.

Pacific Rim is set in the year 2025, where a group of human pilot giant robots to battle alien creatures who live in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

It definitely sounds like Evangelion, so the idea of DelToro making a film of that nature definitely tingles my nerd-endings. I’m curious to find out how much direct input he has on the monster designs as he definitely has a unique style that would compliment this movie very well.
