David Duchovney joins Phantom

Mr. Duchovney is an interesting person to watch on screen. He’s a little weird, and I loved the X-Files so I keep an eye out for his name. Today I find out that he’s returning to the silver screen in a new film called “Phantom” as, get this, a KGB agent who fights ghosts.

Set on a Soviet submarine during the Cold War, Phantom sees a Russian captain contending both with a rogue KGB unit and a supernatural force that’s trying to take over the vessel. Harris is the captain, and Duchovny will replace Andy Garcia as the leader of a Soviet special forces team on a secret mission.

It really doesn’t give much to go on to try to entice a radar alert or anything, but it’s good to see that Duchovney has returned the realm of Sci-Fi. The film also stars Ed Harris and William Fightner who are both a very welcome addition to just about any project that has their names, so I’m definitely curious to find out how this develops and will be sure to share updates as soon as they fly or swim or… whatever, as soon as I find out.
