Dark Night Rises Wayne Manor will be shot in UK

It would seem that a new Wayne Manor has been chosen for the filming of the next Batman installment The Dark Knight Rises, and Wollaton Hall in Nottingham UK will give a new face to the playboy’s home.

Batman on Film

Wollaton Hall – a 16th-century mansion-turned natural history museum in Nottingham, England – will apparently serve as the new Wayne Manor in Dark Knight Rises. This speculation was set off by an announcement on the official Nottingham city site saying that Wollaton Hall will be closed for a two-week period at the end of this month, “in order to enable a film to have exclusive access to the site.”

However, it seems that Osterley Park in West London, not Wollaton Hall, will actually be used for the interior shots of Wayne Manor.

This reminds me of X-Men, where the mansion interior shots were all done at Castle Loma near Toronto Canada were used for the X-Mansion.

The Dark Knight used Mentmore Towers for the rebuilt Wayne Manor (after Ras burned down his original in Begins) and there are some similarities between the buildings.

  1. i live in village next to mentmore towers, they refussed filming on the property for dark knight so thats why hes lives in a hotel. the towers were taken off film locations by the new owners. so thats why it isnt still being used  in these films or any others. its also been in the mummy returns.

  2. They used Mentmore Towers in ‘Batman Begins’ not in ‘The Dark Knight’ I dont think the is any shots of Wayne Mannor in the second movie

  3. Kinda surprised they aren’t using the same one they used for Batman Begins, since he planned to rebuild it just as it was (with improved foundations of course)
