Avenger apperance revealed for Thor

Cinemablend is reporting that they’ve got the spoiler-ish scoop on a certain someone who will be making an unannounced appearance in the Thor movie. First it was rumored, and now we seem to be receiving some confirmation that an Avenger will not only make an appearance but apparently appear in an extended scene with the God of Thunder.

Jeremy Renner is playing Hawkeye in Avengers but now we know that the first place you’ll see the character is in Thor this summer. The scene we saw featured Renner as Hawkeye, working with the infamous Agent Coulson, played as he was in the Iron Man movies, by Clark Gregg. The scene features Hawkeye using his famous bow and arrow and he has multiple lines, so while we’re talking about something a little more than a momentary cameo, there’s no way to know if his involvement will go any further than that one scene.

Now this is the kind of unity I like to hear about! I’d love to whet my Avengers appetite in Thor and this news alone managed to elevate Thor higher on my ‘radar’ than Captain America. Impressive. Now if they can just manage squeezing in some screen time for that Cobie Smulders…

  1. This is old news. It was mentioned awhile back that Jeremy Renner would be in Thor. We knew he’d be playing Hawkeye or as sheild agent Clint Barton. I think the folks who posted this info may have had no idea that Renner would be making an appearence in Thor. Most of us movie bloggers knew this months ago.

      1. I think the news” here is that Barton/Renner has a bit more screen time than just a cameo, and/or the character does more than namedrop The Aveengers Inititive. By the way, I wouldn’t rule out a media or SHIELD report based around the Hulk-Abomination duel (given the timeline of Iron Man 2)

  2. Nice to hear about Hawkeye in Thor. Im guessing a CGI Mark Ruffalo/hulk and Nick Fury for Captain America. Do you think the Avengers won’t be made if Thor and/or Captain America aren’t well received.
