Conan the Barbarian Redband Clip Online

The good people at Maple Pictures here in Canada were kind enough to share this new redband clip from the upcoming Conan the Barbarian.

Check out the brutality of Conan in his younger days.

Its great to see Ron Perlman as the tribe leader. He certainly fits the stature and presence you would think to see from a Barbarian tribe.

The right of passage for the youth turns inevitably violent as their friendly competition becomes a threat. I thought it was a bit over the top that this young boy could so easily take on so many, but still fun to watch.

Seeing Momoa in Game of Thrones has me even more hyped to see Conan, and this is just adding to that. I love the feel of this.

  1. I was able to see its advertisements on TV. And it looked really great! The advertisement was really great and I can’t wait for this movie to be in theaters! I will definitely watch this one with the whole family.

  2. I still remember when I was a kid I always watched this one at cartoon network. However, when I look back now, I wonder, how can a boy, defeat all those villains all by himself.

  3. “I thought it was a bit over the top that this young boy could so easily take on so many,”

A young boy in this day and age sure. But in that “time” it wouldn’t be uncommon for a young boy to be well trained in combat. Plus that is no ordinary boy, for he is Conan of Cimmeria!

    1. But by that same logic, why is it that a crowd of boys who look more physically mature than Conan all back down and run back to the village when they see the savages?

If a boy of “that time” could be expected to take on so many, then a crowd of young men woudln’t have backed down.

Clearly this illustrates why Conan is Conan, but I found it a bit of a leap that he bested them so easily while just moments ago his “peers” were mocking the young boy for wanting to participate in the run to begin with.

  4. Yeah… I think it was a little over the top. All the unrealistic blood turned me off, and the choreography was actually quite amateur. Definitely no HANNA competition in children fighting. I do agree on Ron Periman as the Tribe leader, the casting was quite perfect for that character. Other than that I probably wouldn’t watch this movie unless Arnold Schwarzenegger made a cameo just to punch another camel in the face! haha

  5. He still dropped the egg :)

Seriously though, this clip is great…and hardcore redband!
It convinces me that this new Conan film, while still underhyped is going to do just fine.
