It was rumored a while ago that Sly Stallone might not take the directors chair when discussing a sequel to the popular Expendables sequel, and today we learn that he wont director as Simon West has been hired to take on the job.

The sequel has been in development for awhile, and it’s about time that a worthy director takes the reigns on this production. In comes Simon West (“The Mechanic”) who just signed up to direct “The Expendables 2.”
Filming supposedly starts this summer. I’m a little surprised about the timeframe in which filming will begin if the director is just now getting involved. I’m pretty excited for another round of badass 80’s action heroes tearin shit up, and I’m still holding hope to see a few more additions added to the cast along the way.

Oh.. at first I thought it was Simon Wincer, who was once the promising director of Quigley Down Under and Free Willy. (a poor man’s Spielberg)
