First Look: The Dark Knight Rises’ Bane

We knew that he was on the set and that he had seen the mask. That much we knew. Today we get more. We get a LOT more. Today we get to take a look at how huge this dude has gotten since the announcement that he had taken on the role of Bane.

Those are some impeccable back muscles. Whatsup with the mask? The single light setup helps deliver the “mystery”, and definitely delivers with regard to the tone of the character, but it also makes it hard to get a handle on Nolan’s Bane from this picture of a shirtless man showcasing his back. I can’t see the mask too well at all but it does seem to coincide with Hardy’s’ previous statement of “no Gimp”. I did notice an omission of a backpack and tubing so now I get to wonder how the Venom goes in. I think I like the look but I need to see more to be sure.

  1. I’m getting kind of a joker-ledger feeling over here. I can’t quite explain it other then Hardy feel liks the kind of actor who takes this as serious as Ledger did… That’s not something I feel about Hathaway as catwoman.

God oh god has every potential of blowing my mind.

This is acutally the fist time I got really pumped about DKR!!!!

  2. I think Bane will cripple Bats in this movie and have Bats/Bruce Wayne go through the hard road of recovery and face Bane again for their final confrontation.

  3. Yeah, I’m thinking Venom is either a new street drug Bane controls, or nonexistent. Either way, I think he’s going to just be a world-renowned hitman.

  4. Hey, we can’t see his fist in this picture! (the title says “fist look”, get it?)
But I think it looks good so far; I think he’ll still have the backpack, it’s just not in this picture maybe….

  5. Looks like there’s a spot on the back of the mask for a tube to hook in to, so they may be sticking with the backpack setup. Overall I’m impressed.
