First Look at The Three Stooges on Set

With more on-again off-again notices than a highschool romance, The Three Stooges finally seems to be getting made, and now we get our first look at the cast in a behind the scenes snap.

Live for Films says:

The Farrelly Brothers are filming a car crash scene for the upcoming movie in Stone Mountain Park, Atlanta through Wednesday and the cast of the movie was spotted hanging out in the park between takes today… In these exclusive photos you can catch a first glimpse of Will Sasso (left with back to camera below) as Curly, Chris Diamantopoulos (using eye dropper) as Moe, and, of course, Sean [Hayes] (in the middle) as Larry.

As well as Sofia Vergara showing off her fake injuries her character may have suffered in the scene.

I like Will Sasso in Shit My Dad Says on TV who should play a decent Curly. Diamantopoulos seems a little left field to play the snarky Alpha Stooge Moe, but even more random is Sean Hayes as Larry. Hayes will forever be the flamoyant Jack from Will and Grace, so I am curious to see what he can do here.

I always thought the best way to do the Stooges would be to have less known actors in the roles. The Stooges had their own presence, and having big name celebrities not only jacks up the budget (and risk) but the potential for their personalities to be more predominate than the characters is less an issue when you can separate the actor from the face.

We will have to wait and see if this direction works for them.

  1. …..sorry, i can’t get my eyes off the second pictures of Sofia showing off her fake…. injuries. Well, it’s look like gonna be a fun flick, especially w/ The Farrelly brothers behind the camera. Also it’s good to know that all the leads are not some “household triple A” type actors, so there is an element of surprise, especially if they can pull it off. Just like what the Hangover did back then

  2. i’m more hoping that this feature film will create a surge of DVDs at retail of the classic stooges shorts, as is often the case when a movie is made from a different branch of media, it’s rereleased to capture that audience before the big reveal. It’s so hard to find all the old classics around here though. You usually get the same handful of “episodes” duplicated over and over.

  3. Seeing the injuries that they are going to incorporate into the film is making me not liking it for now. I don’t know how this movie will do at the box office. The magic that moe larry curly did will not be duplicated. Im looking forward to this when it comes out. The only thing that’s making me effie are the fake injuries.
