Tom Hardy replaces Worthington in This Means War

Action flick This Means War has been stewwing forever now and if the film ever gets past the casting stage we might see the story about two spies who fall in love with the same woman.

ScreenRant shares:

The project has had Reese Witherspoon attached to star for awhile and Chris Pine (Star Trek) attached himself to one of the lead spy roles a few months ago. The other role was at one point set to be played by Bradley Cooper before he dropped out due to scheduling conflicts and then it was announced that Sam Worthington had stepped into the role. But now we’re hearing word that Worthington’s been replaced by Brit actor Tom Hardy

Remember when Sam Worthington was going to be the next big thing? Avatar, Terminator, Clash of the Titans…. that other thing.

Well I didn’t think he would fade so quickly and while I don’t hate the guy, I think he might already have started to wear his welcome.

But after Inception I (and a lot of others) said to look out for Tom Hardy. So is it coincidence or plotting that got this guy the gig? I mean, its not like Hardy came out of no where, but people are just now starting to really take notice of the guy, and then he replaces the current it-boy in an upcoming film?

To be fair, the movie has seen more than its share of casting shifts, so it just might be another shuffle.

  1. I really enjoyed Hardy in Inception, he stole a few scenes and showed that he can stand out in a pretty awesome ensemble cast.

Im interested to see what he does next, but might I say that I would rather see Hardy cast as the villain in the follow up to The Dark Knight? He definately has that intelligent, intimidating, calm like a bomb, quality that would work wonderfully in a comic book film.
