MTV Movie Awards 2010 recap

The “Twilight” Movie Awards were last night…sorry, I meant The MTV Movie Awards. I used to be a fan of the awards when I was in high school and most of my college years. How about now? Well, I didn’t even know they were on last night. My wife had to yell “Hey honey, the MTV Movie Awards are on tonight…did you know that?” No I didn’t. Where they any good? No! There were a few funny/cool moments, but that’t it. Like what? Sandra Bullock’s speech/smooching with the beautiful Scarlett Johansson. The whole Will Ferrell/Mark Wahlberg stunt. Zach Galifianakis getting some Swagger Lessons from Taavon. And the highlight of the night: Tom Cruise redeeming himself with his Les Grossman character. I mean, Tom Cruise just having fun/dancing with JLO? To me that’s refreshing and funny. Enjoy the clip…

Oh, and yes, Twilight won Best Picture, Best Male Performance, Best Female Performance, Best Kiss, & Global Superstar…yup

  1. I Like this new “Face” on Tom Cruise it make me forget the stupid things he does and how good he can perform. And of curse if you see the logic in this caracter name less gross-man is suit that J.Lo perform with him.
I LOVE THIS SITE XOXOXOXOXOXO ;)

  2. I forgot there were even on until a good friend of mine commented on it on her Facebook page. I didn’t know who was up for what or why.

Then I noted New Moon won for nearly everything.
It dawned on me. I didn’t need to know. Neither did any of you.

But let’s say you just *wanted* to know what New Moon bested in “Best Picture”. Start laughing…

Alice in Wonderland, Avatar, Harry Potter and the half-blooded Prince and The Hangover.

  3. Haha, I enjoyed that clip. Definitely was a blast watching Cruise in that role again. Can’t say I knew the awards were on or that I would’ve watched them, though.

  4. Uh… the whole, BEST thing… maybe they’re just being ironic… kinda like an anti-razies! Oh, who am I kidding? Mark Garragos couldn’t save face on this. Still, that Les Grossman thing almost makes up for those wins.

  5. Could it be that we’re not enjoying them as we used to because simply we’re not in the same age bracket that they’re trying to appeal to? I remember watching the MTV Movie Awards in high school, thinking they were hilarious but my parents of course were like WTF?
The J.Lo appearance was just bizarre, and why was she playing an old 2005 song of her?….
Did anyone else think they went overboard with the F bombs? Its not that I’m a prude, but it was really annoying hearing everyone get bleeped every five seconds….
