Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson To Reunite For El Presidente?

They gave us A Few Good Men years ago. They may give us El Presidente now. Apparently, actors Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise are about to reunite on the big screen.

JoBlo reports:

LA Times’ 24 Frames reports that the studio has put an offer out to Jack Nicholson to play the titular role of a former and terrible commander-in-chief in EL PRESIDENTE. Meanwhile, Jack’s A FEW GOOD MEN co-star Tom Cruise has attached himself to the project in the role of “a dedicated Secret Service agent assigned to protect [the] bumbling and degenerate ex-president.”

The action comedy comes courtesy of a spec script from late-night television writer Dan Goor. He brings with him one hell of a resumé that includes stints on the writing staffs of “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”, “Late Night with Conan O’Brein”, and most recently, the hilarious “Parks and Recreation”.

Just a couple of days ago, TheWrap broke the news that Goor’s script picked up by WB. They have a slightly more detailed story breakdown:

“The story follows an overly-committed Secret Service agent who is assigned to guard the country’s worst former president, a bumbling sleaze. It’s a mundane and boring job — until there’s a threat made on the ex-president’s life, forcing the duo to go on the run together.”

I’m not blown away by the premise, but honestly I’d be lying if said I care. Cruise and Nicholson together on an action/comedy film after all these years? I’m in. I’d love to see this happen; the chemistry between both actors would be incredible. I hope this gets made. Get on it.

You want a Cruise Nicholson reunion? What would you like the plot to be? Interested or not?

  1. Sounds fun, but I’m tired of seeing Cruise in action roles. He’s too old for it, and he’s much better as a dramatic actor (Jerry Maguire, Magnolia, etc.)

But I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t see it.
