Emma Watson is not The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Gossip sites are now citing that Harry Potter star Emma Watson’s recent news worthy hair chopping was not just to change a hairstyle she’s been sporting for her whole life, but in hopes of getting a role in Fincher’s remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Turns out its not true and she’s not gunning for the part at all.

Celebrity Mania says:

Emma Watson did not chop off her hair for “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)”. While the drastic change of her hairstyle has led to speculation that she is looking forward to land the role of Lisbeth Salander in the David Fincher-directed film, the 20-year-old beauty has her representative to tell Gossip Cop the story is “absolutely false on all accounts.”

I really think that Emma Watson is in a great position to really hone her craft and become a fantastic actress.

Even with her decade of experience on Harry Potter films she is already immune to the attention and glamour, so now still young enough to make a change she stands on the edge of really proving herself.

So while she isn’t trying for Dragon Tattoo, I really think Watson should take on a serious role to really get herself on the map and break that Harry Potter Stigma.

“Harry Potter Stigma” might be too strong, since it was a successful series, and she did a good job in it. Perhaps better to say ‘break out from the Harry Potter typecasting’

Have you read the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo? Doesn’t strike me as something that any actress is going to find challenging to pull off.

I think it woulda been hard for me to see her in the role of Lisbeth after seeing the original Swedish version, which was AMAZING by the way! I still see her as little 9 year old Hermione. I’ll probably see her like that until she’s well into her 30′s despite the fact that, to be honest, she’s grown up into quite a little hottie.

You still see her as 9 and think shes a hottie. I’m just going to leave that alone.

I can’t see her as 9 now that shes grown into a hottie.
