Justin Bieber to get 8 Mile-esque Feature Film?

Justin Bieber’s rise to fame might be earning him his own feature film in a pseudo biopic in the vein of 8 Mile. No, it won’t be a story about Justin’s hard life on the mean streets of Stratford Ontario, but it will likely be about a Beiber like popstar shooting to popularity.

Cinemablend shares:

The tween sensation apparently told Teen Vogue back in April that he was working on a biopic about his life, and now gossip site Hollywood Life says a script is close to completion, and just as Bieber promised, it’s “kinda like my own version of 8 Mile.”

I can hardly imagine a story of his success since he is only 16, came out of nowhere and was instant popular.

I can only name one song he sings, and its pretty damned catchy. He has a clean cut image and positive message to send so while I don’t mind my kids listening to his music, it does make him the object of ridicule.

I anticipate his “my own 8 Mile” statement to be mocked, but I see where he is coming from.

It wont be a direct story about his climb to success (which might have incurred such hardships as skipping lunch period) but it will be about a character that is a lot like him.

If its done right (and likely Disney candy coated) it could be a fun movie. Where my real concern lies, is just how terrible he was on Saturday Night Live (acting not singing) and what that might look like on a polished film.

This is where the real rocket scientists come out with comments like “Justin Bieber sucks” because its the cool thing to do. You don’t have to like him, but at least keep the comments off the playground.

  1. Nothing good could come from this ”movie”!! why would he get his own movie?? ……..O yes we would love to sit there for about an hour and half and watch someone sing!!! NOT its like another hannha montana movie!!!
And we do not need another one of those!! /:

  2. I don’t mind Justin’s music, but doing a film on him at the age of 16 seems a little ridiculous (assuming it’s supposed to be in the vein of 8-mile).

I hope it works out for the guy.

  3. They’d better hurry and get this thing in the theaters. Strike while the iron is hot. His fan base can be fickle. I wouldn’t be surprised if they haven’t moved on to the next “it” kid by the time they finish the film.

  4. Well it won’t be a movie I would watch and in the world of movie’s won’t really be that significant, forgotten in a matter of years. But what it is, is good commercial sense. For a certain market Bieber is hot and what better way for the money men to capitalize on his popularity that to chuck out a sugar coated movie full of teenage turmoil and youthful adventures peppered with music to get his fans whipped up to a frenzy whilst the cash registers ring to the sound of profit.

  5. Jesus! wait til the kid actually LIVES his life a lil. Has some REAL ups and downs, REAL issues, REAL problems. Damn…so sad… so sad…..

BUT it will prolly make a shit load of cash!

  6. The thing that irritates me about this kid is that he is 16 or however old and as far as I can tell hasn’t really worked for anything that he has “accomplished”. Just an elite marketing team with money and connections to produce fodder.

    1. Cool as Ice wasn’t at all a biopic. It was just a story about a guy from the “wrong side of the tracks” falling for the good girl with a tiny bit of adventure thrown in.

That he rapped in the film doesn’t mean he was a recording artist, just a cool guy.

      Cool as Ice.

  7. Ug, I throw some of those comments against Bieber and I don’t like the guy. I honestly find this merely an extension of his 5 minutes of fame.

The problem I have is the demographic who like him ALOT have many Twihards, take those people and just imagine how fiercy defending they are on, so getting a movie…it’ll probably be a success. However, Bieber is a kid and kid actors generally suck. Generally.
