Tron Legacy Trailer in 3D

Remember last week when they started this big countdown to the Tron Legacy Trailer being released today. Well today is here, and no damned trailer!

Well they were not really lying, the trailer is being released today. IN THEATERS. Here is an image to tide you over. It’s like offering you a free meal and handing you a photo of it.

So this morning when I was watching Alice in Wonderland in 3D, I was treated to the Trailer that isn’t online today. The nice treat was that during the regular Trailer segment they give you the “Put on your 3D Glasses Now” screen and then showed us 2 more trailers.

So I got to see the Tron Legacy Trailer in 3D. As well as How to Train your Dragon, that looked cute.

It’s pretty cool and shows a lot of updated images from “inside” but mostly catches us up with Sam Flynn being explained that his father disappeared shortly after making an announcement that he was going to change the world. He gets a tip that a phone call was made from his father’s abandoned arcade, where the phone has been disconnected for the last 20 years. Sam investigates and is sucked into Tron’s world.

Sexy girl in dayglow accented bodysuit, lightcycles and some really neat Disc fighting scenes and thats it. Enough to get my wanting more.

But no trailer to share today. You know that’s going to get bootlegged before the weekend is over. I don’t know why they think they can make us wait another week before we get a peek.

    Nice Visuals?

Loved Tron as a kid and want to see a better look at this movie, the “Teaser” wasn’t really a tease, more like a put-off that looked like a PS3 commercial.

    Hoping…

Bootleg? How does that work when its in 3D? Wouldn’t it look extra shitty?

This is a bit off topic but something that is pissing me off. But the topic of 3D is brought up.

I went and saw Shutter Island today (I know. I’m a little late) and watched a trailer for the new Clash of the Titans. At the end of the trailer it said Coming in 3D and then below that said “2D in select theaters”

WTF is that. 2D now in select theaters? Meaning not everything theater will offer it in both. I’m all for innovation and enhancing the experience. But it’s almost like they are beginning to shove it down our throats. I see offering both for certain movies, but not all movies need to be seen in 3D. But that is where we are heading.

What’s next? Blu-rays only coming in 3D. Making everyone buy the new 3D televisions that just hit the market.

Its just a play on words. Instead of saying 3D in select theaters, they just say 2D in select theaters. It means the same thing.

Any theater that is capable of showing it in 3D WILL. And most of those have a secondary showing that isn’t as well. I haven’t seen a multiplex that has more than 4 screens NOT show the 2D version.

Its just drawing your attention to the 3D first and if you still want, you can see it in 2D

Yes I agree with you. I went to see “Alice in Wonderland” this weekend and had to drive 30 mins away because all the theaters around me were only showing it in 3D. I heard it wasn’t worth watching in 3D. I found it very annoying that theaters are forcing you pay and watch it in 3D. Sure they make more money but that’s only cause they are bumping the price up to $13 per ticket. It’s not going to stop so we must get use to it.

Have they released the trailer online yet? I’m not paying $13 just so i can see a trailer.

i think the trailer is a fake.
