Geoffrey Rush Confirmed for Pirates 4: On Stranger Tides

With Penelope Cruz joining the cast of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as Ian McShane’s Blackbeard’s Daughter we also get a more significant bit of news.
Geoffrey Rush has confirmed that Barbossa is back!
It pleases me to hear producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirming to MTV that Rush will be returning for the fourth installment in the series, ON STRANGER TIDES.
I thought the interaction between Jack and Barbossa was among the best of the films. These two are as cutthroat and unscrupulous as they come, but they embody the respect of the Pirates code in their dealings.
I can’t wait to see these two bantering again!

I agree with what you said about the interaction between Jack and Barbossa. It was actually what kept me from disliking the third film.

Curse of the Black Pearl was a great movie… The other two were pretty bad in my opinion. But, I think the worst part of these movies was Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightley. And the only reason they had any entertaining value is because of Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, and Bill Nighy. I also think they should replace Gore Virbinski
Fully agree with you on Knightley and Bloom. I like them both but just not in the pirates movies. Oh and btw Gore Verbinski isn’t directing this.
Barbossa = win
Jack Sparrow = win
Now just give us a cool villain ala Davy Jones, and no 3hr running time.
well a movie at 3 hours can be good its all on what you have in it
agree, LOTR was good and worth every hours of it. So was Dark Knight and Avatar, they’re just almost 3 hrs, but, well…
No more 3 hrs, I agree, make it swift.
Kiera Knightley was nice to look at though. something about that skinny girl in those period piece outfits scream Emmanuel!
