Corey Haim dead at 38

Corey Haim was half of the 80s hearthrob sensation team of Corey Feldman and Corey Haim. They did a number of films together, all which are instant 80s pop culture classics. But none were more popular than The Lost Boys.

Today, it was announced that Haim was found dead, likely the result of an overdose.

Coming Soon shares:

Corey Haim, the teen idol best known for his role opposite Corey Feldman in the ’80s vampire flick The Lost Boys, was found dead of an overdose this morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, who were called to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, California to investigate. Haim was just 38 years old.

This is just terrible news. I was a huge Corey’s follower in the 80s.

After seeing the reality show The Two Corey’s I was not only surprised to see how Feldman landed such a superhottie, but also a little saddened that Corey Haim was on such a distructive path. He just couldn’t seem to keep it together and had no foreseeable future.

Well they set a plan in motion and it looked like Haim was about to see a mini resurgence in popularity with cameos in Crank 2 and possibly facing off against the Frog Brothers in another Lost Boys sequel. He even took a full page ad in an industry paper. Hoping to reinvigorate his career.

Sad that won’t happen.

I’m going to to watch Prayer of the Rollerboys in tribute to this troubled soul who lost his way.

Don’t really know what to write, his life has been a sad mess since the 80′s. To bad he couldn’t turn i around for the better again.
Sad story with a sad end.
My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
    Phil

    Awful, sadness. RIP Corey Haim.

He was my favorite of the two Corey’s and one of my first teen star crushes.

  3. AARON says:

    RIP
What is with celebs dying lately?

  4. Jesse says:

Very sad to hear this news. I was also looking forward to a Corey comeback. What I think will be interesting to see if they mention him at next years Oscars during the tribute portion of the show. I seem to remember the Academy not mentioning Brad Renfro after his death.

  5. David Lopan says:

Prayer of the Rollerboys? Rodney, how about you watch License to Drive instead? :)

  6. Phoenix Dark says:

The “Day of the Rope” is hear. I am so very sad by this…

May he now find the peace he was longing for.

The world is a smaller place, now that he is gone.

  7. Jay says:

He had been on hard drugs since the 80′s. I think the long term effects of Heroin and Cocaine are now starting to show in todays late 30 to early 40′s age group.

  8. Andrew says:

I’ve never seen The Lost Boys or License to Drive, or any other film he’s been in, but I will say that this news saddens me. Thirty-eight is way too young for anybody. Sure, it’s not the youngest age you can die (I knew someone in my high school who died at the age of seventeen) but it’s still sad. May he rest in peace.

RIP Corey, we hardly knew you. God Bless

A large part of my teenage years involved The Lost Boys, great film, fantastic soundtrack (still have trouble eating noodles).

    “Death by Stereo – cool”

    Rest in peace Corey.

  12. It’s tragic, but perhaps someone, average person or celeb will finally wake up and dump their personal private pharmacies away and get their shit together. Get help, don’t turn your backs on those trying to help you and shy away from those enabling you.

Also, I been hearing how this is an “accidental” overdose. I’m sorry, people, at some point you have to know what you are taking unless someone gives it to you and rips off the label. You take too many pills and the wrong combination, you roll the dice taking the risk. Stop hurting yourself and those that care about you. Dump the pills and get into rehab.

    Learn from this.

I followed the guy as well and liked all their stuff together, they had one about getting a drivers license (License to drive?)that was really funny (at the time)

    Lost Boys was the shit!

SAD…..He looked swollen the last time I saw him on T.V.

What with these f’n pills man?
