Superbowl 2010 Movie TV Spots

Superbowl brings a lot of fun things to the plate for a Sunday afternoon. And they even play some football!

Here are some of the Movie Trailer TV Spots that aired in the overpriced time slots that were not released beforehand!

Robin Hood:

See, power chords can be performed by an orchestra. And lots of bows and arrows to go along with the traditional story. I’d be more excited about this if it wasn’t the same outlaw story again. I love Robin Hood, and I will likely love this too, but I have seen this story.

Looking delighfully silly and creep at the same time, Alice is an acid trip. They didn’t show much we haven’t already seen though.

I just love that purr that Gemma Arterton has to her voice. Again not much new, but still wanting to see this. Made me forget it was a video game adaptation.

And of course the “trailer” for the short film by Homeaway.com featuring the spokespersons for bad travel planning, the Griswolds.

Good to see the Griswolds and the Wagon again, and I hope that this promotional stunt does lead to a next generation of Vacation films.

There were other planned Superbowl spots that backed out, like Iron Man 2. I wonder what they were saving themselves for? Maybe they would rather wow us with an actual trailer instead of a half minute TV spot. But when?

Rodney already posted the TV Spot for “The Last Airbender” a couple of days ago.

  2. Matt Keith says:

I saw the Robin Hood spot, and it was pretty good.

The only one I had any interest was for Iron Man 2. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the memo that it was dropped until 10 minutes into the game. Well, its actually good because I didn’t have to sit through the game, then.

Im not sure what you were saying about the music in Robin Hood.

How do you feel about it?

    • Rodney says:

Yet another period movie with power chord rock soundtrack… of course I am opposed to that.

They could have done the SAME music but with an orchestra and it would have fit.. but Robin Hood might as well have been using a compound bow for the distraction it served.

  4. Kudos for Alice In Wonderland and Robin Hood. POP looks good, a bit better.
    No idea for HomeAway

  5. RonSalon says:

In the Robin Hood ad, shouldn’t it say…

    Before Sherwood Forest
    there was a chocolate cake
    that made him a fatty…
    Robin Hood

Man, when Russell Crowe is running through the water I thought, they should have made you do that a lot before they started shooting the film.

  6. Most Impressive: Robin Hood, Alice In Wonderland

The Best although I already made up my mind to see it months ago: Shutter Island

The Unexpected : The Crazies (!!)

Most dsapponting and 100% disagree with Rodney: Prince Of Persia. No, if anything it made you *remember* it was based off a video game. It was a garbled mess (the trailer)

The worst: The Back Up Plan
(note: you would not know it is a movie trailer until the end; it looked more like a new sitcom for CBS. This is the film with JLo)

The shockingly worst thing I seen/heard last night aside from dudes running around in bad underwear and Megan Fox in a tub with a cell? The Who’s halftime show which if I didn’t know any better, was a shameless subliminal plug for CSI….

  7. 420BAND says:

Notice how most of the good ad’s were missing this year?

everything I could see were CBS’ lineup

seems like everyone was saving their wad this year..

And the game was actually better than the commercials this year..

    HOW BOUT THAT?

and Who else loves the who thought: Time to call it a career guy’s..
