Reynolds and Pitt up for Gunsmoke?

Its a Western Showdown of high noon porportions as the adaptation of Gunsmoke gears up looking for its leading man.

Who could be the role of Dodge City’s Marshal Matt Dillon? So far word says its Ryan Reynolds or Brad Pitt

Cinematical says:

Ryan Reynolds is said to be interested in the role as he continues to make a name for himself as an action star, moving from romances and comedies to the world of Deadpool and the Green Lantern. But there’s also the allure of a man who’s already seen the grit of the Old West. Brad Pitt is CBS Films’ top man

I love a good western, and few have the reputation of Gunsmoke. I would love to see this brought to the big screen.

As for Reynolds, I will have to wait to see if he can holster the snark before I want to see him in more. Don’t get me wrong, I dig the guy and he has heaps of talent. And the coming roles he is lined up for may prove that, but at least one of them is going to need a healthy dose of snark.

I’d have to go with Pitt on this one.

  1. I say no on Pitt, and a maybe on Reynolds.
Note: I’d actually prefer Hurt Locker’s Jeremy Renner.

Enough Reynolds already, I’d rather see Burt than Ryan at this point.

I agree with 420band im kinda sick of all the talk about him… getting bored…

Holy Shit!!! I don’t know how I missed this post. I love both of them and I cannot decide which one I want in this film. Maybe Pitt ’cause he don’t have any action films in hand.

DUD that would rule! Pitt plays a good cowboy I think. From watching the JJ movie.
