Logan Lerman could be Spider-Man?

Just one more reason to watch Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief… the star – Logan Lerman – might just be our next Peter Parker!
Seems that Access Hollywood has shared an interview with Lerman where he talks about how both the studio and Lerman’s representation have both sent feelers out to each other about him taking on the role of a high school aged Peter Parker in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot.
Now granted this is just talk. They have considered it. There is no saying that he is going to get this role and he may just be the first to TALK about being talked to. I imagine they have considered a good number of young actors for the role. So lets get that clear. No one is saying that this is happening, just that conversations have begun in considering him and it COULD go that way if everything falls into place.
Kay? Exhale.
Now, all that being said… I love it. I think this kid has a ton of potential, and his brief presence in the Percy Jackson trailers convinced me that the film would be worth the shot. I do know that when I go see Percy Jackson and the Olympians, I will be trying to picture him as the nerdy webhead as well now.

I saw this kid in ‘Gamer’ and he’s cool. I can see him as Peter.
I want someone thats known to be the following (as in, acting)
1) Funny
2) Smart/geeky
3) Skinny, not buff
4) Can talk back, sarcastic

You realize Justin Long is like 32 years old?
Why do people keep suggesting actors in their late 20s and 30s to play this character they have repeatedly said will be returning to his teenage highschool roots??

Lerman’s good, I saw him in Gamer, as well, this kid could rock.
However, Toby Maguire was AWESOME.

I understand you want to see Spider-Man’s origins 45 times, and you still dont know he got bit by a spider (YES, that IS what happens) and thats COOL, i respect that. In fact i hope you embrace that, and watch Spider-Man 1 forty-seven times.
But i already saw him in high school. I want them to move on, get rid of it in the opening credits.
I dont WANT a 12 year old spiderman, like the rest of the planet wants.
And i know you all want a rookie newbie actor to play spiderman… because spiderman isnt that popular anyway… so lets get a rookie unexperienced director, and an actor with almost no experience to play Spiderman. Like this little dude.
And i think thats awesome, i really do.
But i personally would like to see Justin Long, to play Spiderman.
If they go back to high school, then its basically a prequel. I dont want that.
James, I never said I want to see his origins, and you know better than most here that I clearly know Spider-Man’s story.
That you already saw him in high school is irrelevant. We already saw Batman face off against Joker on the big screen too.
The fact remains that for the first 20 years of Spider-Man’s comic, he was still in High School, and that is where they are going with the reboot.
Its not ME who has decided what they are going to do, but if you are going to speculate on casting you have to accept that he will be young. This actor who takes the part – whoever they pick WILL BE YOUNG regardless about how I feel on the subject.
He also wont be 12. Thats just over reaction on your part and not one of ‘the rest of the planet’ expects him to be pre-teen. Lerman has been kicking around a bit and is far from a 12 year old. He has a lot more experience than you give him credit for, and has close to the same experience Maguire had before getting his first lead role and will likely have others before Spider-Man (if he is the guy)
Lerman was incredible in Jack and Bobby on TV, and I trust his acting ability. Just as much as I liked Toby.
I dont want to see the origin spelled out again either, but I am not opposed to it. Batman redid the origin in Begins, and it worked. Anything CAN work if done right.
Teenage Spider-Man worked for 20 years of comics before he went to college, so why not in a film?

But in all seriousness, I was hoping, that they could kill two birds in one shot. Reboot it and “sequel” it at the same time
Heres what i mean:
Reboot it, but at the same time, do the movie in the same timeline that spiderman 3 ended.
Which means: They wont show anything that was shown in Spiderman 1,2 or 3. And they would just start the reboot with him and MJ (different cast) and he faces new villains (Electro, Carnage..WHATEVER)
If they do that, then people who hate reboots can say “Well, at least theyre not repeating anything, so its pretty much a weird sequel, but with different actors”
And also please people who WANTED a reboot, who would say:
“YES! we have a new cast, director, and feel of the movie”
But going back to high school is something that i think will split the approval of this film RIGHT down the middle.
Clean slate is the ONLY way to effectively reboot.
If they picked up where 3 left off with new actors, it would just be Spider-man 4

I think the whole “Im a teen! my costume ripped! I bet ironman never went through this… crap im late! did i do my homework?” version of spidey is AWESOME and EXTREMELY funny. But its chronologically wrong with the last movies (no DUH)

A few days ago they said they wouldn’t be doing an Iron Man 2 trailer in the Superbowl.
They announced they were backing out on that days ago.

To James: I think you should just DEAL with the fact about how they’re going to make the Spiderman movies. The movie will be set in high school. PERIOD. They might make the same plots again. PERIOD. And just because you don’t want to have them redo stuff, well… YOU JUST MIGHT BE ONE OF THE ONLY FEW WHO DO! There. I’ve made my peace.
PS: Logan Lerman played Percy Jackson very well, and I will be disapointed if he doesn’t get the part.
Yes! I love Logan Lerman as an actor too! Saw him for the first time in the Percy Jackson trailer and was already impressed. Then I watched My one and only with Renee Zellweger and suddenly I realised that her son was Lerman. He did a great job. Lots of potential.
Well, I don’t think I would hate it. As long as they can get the duality between the shy nerd that is Parker and the confident one-liner that is Spider-Man.
I just hope they don’t children-ize it too much. So that given a chance fans of the first series could ya know, enjoy it.
He was the first person I had in mind, only because I couldn’t think of any other young actors. You know besides Taylor Lauutner, and God no.
Daniel Radcliffe is 20. Not that he would make a good or bad Spider-man but according to Vanity Fair he was the highest paid actor in 2009, and if he could get the Spider-man franchise under his belt then he wouldn’t be doing too bad for himself, at 20.
I still think it should go to Joseph Gordon Levitt.
Dude Billy Bush is the freaking anti-christ. He’s the same guy who will completely make shit up and then discredit it 2 minutes later.
True, Lerman acknowledges they are in talk, but Bush reacts to any rumour he hears on twitter.

IF THEY DO, then i would like to see Efron as Parker. Not my first pic, or top ten, but why not.
Is he really an unknown? He has worked with Jessica Alba, Aaron Eckhart, Jim Carrey, Christian Bale, Russell Crowe, Renée Zellweger, Kevin Bacon, and then theres Gamer and Percy Jackson.
Not worst case. That IS what they are doing with spidey.
It will be a teen story – hopefully glossing over the origins and picking up quick with him having the powers.
Efron is an adult now, and should be playing adult roles. He has earned that much.
And Logan is FAR from unknown and has had as much if not more experience than Tobey did when he took on Spider-Man

Ive said in my recent podcasts that i loved this guy in 3:10 to Yuma… and hes got a bright future but i dont see him as spidey. (this IS just an early rumor btw)
Its acting, an actor pretending to be someone he isnt for entertainment. The kid doesnt have to be 17 to play a character thats 17. thats my opinion though

Well, if he doesn’t do much in the movie. Sony said that the next Spider-Man flick won’t have as much action as the previous movies did.
Photo does well with selling it..
I’ll hold my judgement until I have a chance to see something he has done. I will go see his latest movie and hope he is worthy of the Spiderman role.
I am glad they are going young for Spidey, maybe they will cast someone like Molly Quinn for Mary Jane?
“Molly Quinn” plays the daughter on the show Castle, she would be a good Mary Jane.

If it’s him, I’m cool with it and do a Ultimate Spiderman kind of thing.But the villan is the huge question.I personally think that the original villans are the best. the new stuff like Morbius(new meaning not Stan and co.’s) the spider slayers, anti-venom,toxin,silver sable,the enforcers etc. just dont have the ZING! the others bring to the table.
