Zelda Rubinstein dies at Age 76

The oddly creepy yet warm diminutive medium from Poltergeist has died at the age of 76.

BBC News shares:

The 4ft 3in (1.29m) actress died in hospital on Wednesday after recently suffering a heart attack, her agent told the Los Angeles Times.

Eccentric medium Tangina Barrons was her first major role and one she reprised in two Poltergeist sequels.

Zelda Rubinstein was the connection to the spirit world that managed to dodge the supposed Poltergeist curse (that claimed the lives of 6 Poltergeist stars in 6 years) to live a long and prosperous life, but she never out ran her most popular character so early in her career.

Go to the Light Zelda.

Such a shame… but still a great film!

One of my best friends had her as a professor at a college a few years back. He said she was mean to anyone with a penis. He saw again on campus like two years later and he approached her to say hi. He said her response was “You’re still here? I figured you flunked out by now” hahaha! Sucks she died. She seemed like an interesting person.

Wow…they spoofed her on that South Park episode last night where she ended up dying, and now dying on that same day. I don’t know what to say about that, but she was my favorite character in the Poltergeist series. So R.I.P. Ms. Rubinstein.
