Lindsay Lohan Joining Machete?

Although “Grindhouse” didn’t succeed as well at the box office as I’m sure the studio and directors (Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino) wish it had, the creative “mini movie” segments in between the two features became an instant smash hit. These fake trailers because more popular than the feature film itself, each directed by a different director (Eli Roth, Rob Zombie, Edgar Wright, Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino). The most popular (and arguably the best) of these fake trailers was the one for “Machete”. Hell, the fake trailers were far superior to “Death Proof”.

It was announced some time ago that “Machete” was actually going to be turned into its own full length feature film, and today it appears another cast member is set to join the film.

Actress Lindsay Lohan posted this on her Twitter: “something was made official today!” with the link going to the Machete page on IMDB.

If this turns out to be true (Lohan is now listed on the Machete page), then she’ll be joining the likes of Robert De Niro, Jonah Hill, Steven Seagal and Danny Trejo as the title character.

Uggghhhh… I’ve been really looking forward to seeing Machete… but wow… if Lohan is in it i think I just lost all respect for Rodriguez and my excitement will take a serious blow. What do you guys think?

  1. Lohan is in the movei but also Seagal ! Its been Confirmed. De Niro is in the movie also Cheech, Don Johnson, Jessica Alba [!]

  2. I like this casting decision. Lohan has always had potential as a good actress, but you know. I might be a little bias toward since I’ve had a crush on her since I was a little kid. Still, I hope she gets her shit together and make a comeback in this role. Another thing, why isn’t Jeff Farly in this movie? He was the senator in the machete trailer, and then I wonder if Cheech Martin is going to be in this movie too.

  3. Ok why on IMDB is Sin City 3 in production before 2?

Steven Segal is in this who will he be?

They should take Robert D out he is done and have the guy from the trailers who was also JT in Planet Terror play the Senator.

    1. It’s been saying that forever. When it comes to info on Sin City sequels, I don’t bother following IMDB. Their sources are all fucked up on that.

  4. Her casting is fine. I dislike her in every film she has been in, but Rodriguez knows what he is doing. I disagree with your deathproof assessment. I thought it was fantastic.

    1. Oh come on she was at one time a child actress when she was in my opinion a pretty decent remake of The Parent Trap and I’ve always liked Mean Girls as a guilty pleasure kind of movie but yeah she hasn’t done jack shit since those movies. And I have a serious problem with a line she says in French in the movie Just My Luck she or whoever wrote that line needs to be shot because it’s the worst line in movie history just for the fact that it has no place in an already piece of shit movie.

  5. When I heard about not only Lohan but also that “wonderful classic thespian” Steven Seagal, I had some doubts…but then I thought about it…I wondered if ‘Machete’ might be filmed and edited in a Grindhouse style. If so, this could work.

Just think: for one movie nobody will bitch about Seagal’s stunt doubles! Or his own voice dubs!

    Stellar!

    @areyouserious:
As far as Miss Lohan goes, I dunno ’bout the nekkid thing , but one thing I do know. We don’t need another I Know Who Killed Me …oh, wait. That’s right….she was a bad tease.
Still, she couldn’t femme fatale if she tried.

  6. I kinda like this actually, I think Lohan is a fine actress when she puts her mind to it (like Mean Girls), she could be awesome in this.

P.S: I LOVE Death Proof lol

  7. eh…Tarantino wanted to cast Britney Spears in a Faster Pusycat Kill Kill remake. And sometimes casting choices don’t make sense, like Travolta in Pulp Fiction, but then seem brilliant. I’m not saying I’m happy about it, i’m just taking a wait and see approach. It certainly doesn’t take any of my excitement away.

  8. great move! Lohan rules. She’s in need of a comeback, and this is pretty damn close to starring in a QT flick, which is what I’ve been wishing for.
also, with all these stars attached, Machete can’t still be going straight to DVD, right?
