I saw Dear John and liked it so much I read the book. Backwards, I know. I think the more movies he makes, the more he will take away and add to his acting skills, and this does have some major talent in this one. But considering the great supporting cast there is clearly something going for him. In picture 2 Jamie Bell (I think he plays Esca-Marcus's slave)is wearing leather. But I agree the light makes it look like demin. The shield looks celitsh and because he is a slave it was problely all he could get hold of... Thats just my opinion, I am no expert. But this movie deserves a chance, a look at the tralier at least. Sorry about the spelling OK…Channing Tatum leaves a lot to be desired. It's directed by Kevin Macdonald, the Oscar winning filmmaker behind "Touching the Void," "State of Play" and "The Last King of Scotland." 2. The book that it's based on is a fantastic read!
