If I can recall correctly, the girl pulled freddy into the real world by holding on to him. I always thought that was stupid. I wonder if it will happen this time around.

Just to point something out, in the movies they never actually say “child molester”. They use “Child Killer” instead and leave the molestation theory to the viewers.

I can’t stand remakes either, but who gives a shit, this is Freddy!

I’m not asking for high art here, I’m asking for an ass-kicking, blood spilling and (sometimes) darkly wise-cracking Nightmare on Elm Street flick.

The idea came forward a while ago when talk of the remake was starting. It was rumoured that they were going to go that way (cant recall where I read it) and it got some people itchy.

I think that as long as he turns vindictively evil in the end, it doesn’t matter if he was wrongfully accused or not. I just think it would be interesting if the real crime was that he was innocent and that they inadvertantly created a monster in his revenge.

- The reason he got off in the original was because of a technicality in the Law ( wasn’t read his rights, no search warrant, ect..)It also implied that he mocked them and laughed about it. That was the point of mob justice. To avenge their children’s death when the law wouldn’t. BUT as a result, the same family members who burned him alive where the ones that turned him into a monster..( lesson learned)

Like I said,..STOP making villains empathetic characters. He needs to be an evil Child molesting/killing Psychopath. That’s what MAKES him ‘Freddy: ,.he’s an evil SOB, who has a mad on for revenge.
_ I don’t need to , or WANT to feel sorry for him.

and as for Remakes, I can dispute their revelance for hours. BUT, Im a child from the 80′s generation and horror flicks came in 1/2 dozen. sequels,remakes,etc. so Freddy gets a Free Pass from me.

That’s just it. I don’t need Freddy to be innocent. As soon as he starts terrorizing people out of revege he becomes less innocent anyways.

But to have a blind raging hate brewwing from his life being ruined by a false accusation is fine. He can become a far worse monster than they accused him of.

I am on-board for the new idea that Freddy was innocent. I don’t know how he could have gotten off without prison if he was guilty anyway. But as long as it’s a focus on Freddy. Not who the real murderer was, not trying to say they’re sorry, just a simple case of “you made me, now I’ll unmake you.” As long as in the end, we have the same old sadistically evil Freddy.
But if we WAS innocent, I wonder where he got the claws. And how he got his ‘powers’ would be interesting, even if its just a vague nod.
