Rambo is no Longer The Savage Hunt

Sylvester Stallone announced he would once again return to the Rambo franchise for at least one more appearance, but the plot had the fans all puzzled. Rambo was going to be stepping into the world of borderline supernatural having him hunt down a genetically altered man beast in the artic.

Well this news made me happy, as Sly announces a new plot for Rambo that is more in line with the franchise.

Dark Horizons quotes Sly:

“I’m letting you know that Rambo has changed course and the story about hunting the man/beast will be done using another character in the lead. ‘Rambo’ himself will be heading over the border to a violent city where many young women have vanished. There will be blood.”

So the man beast story, which was based on the James Huggins novel Hunter, will be getting a pure adaptation from novel to screen and will not be used as the basis for Rambo.

That’s a much better plan.

  1. Why everyone was so up in arms about Rambo changing direction was beyond me. It was a bold and clever move and i am sure Stallone would have kept the film on the level.

It’s a bad move to bend to fan pressure and go back to this, far weaker sounding storyline. It’s just another rehash of the last one by the sound of it. Poor show i say.

  2. IT’S OVER JOHNNY……….It’s over!

The last one was pretty gory…so yeah ,I take another one. The man beast thing is somethin’ I just read about here, but is intriguing none the less..kinda like a Predator/Animal that actually would be nice but, I’ll take anyway they give it to me.

  3. I would have liked just tad more information than that, but I’m relieved all the same. “Rambo VS” stories are more suited to youtube videos or fan-fiction (that’s not an insult; I write fan-fiction). It just doesn’t add up, and hopefully we’ll get the definitive end for Rambo like we did for Rocky.
