THR has announced another “bromantic comedy” to toss into the mix with Summit Pictures’ Alan Yang scripted comedy We Love You, the story of two close friends who discover they’re dating the same woman and the hilarity that ensues after that.

I really liked this premise when there were 4 guys squriming over the girl and it was called Whipped with Amanda Peet.

I remember when Bromance was just one of those things that happened and we didn’t have to force it. Buddy cop movies are bromances!

We had Starsky and Hutch, Jay and Silent Bob, Busom Buddies, Simon and Simon, Full House, Chips, Lethal Weapon, the A-Team and even The Odd Couple! It isn’t like male bonding TV shows and Movies are something new. It’s a special hetero lifemate bond, but its not new.

Just the word “bromance” is new.

Its like they are trying to preface their male bonding film by saying “this isn’t gay… its bromance”

We get it.
