New Daybreakers Poster Online

There is a new poster for Daybreakers online that reminds me a hell of a lot of the Matrix. And of course since its the flavour of the week, its a vampire movie.

The unique twist of this vamp flick is that a virus has changed most of the world’s population into vampires but they are starting to run out of people to feed on. The image in the poster is one of the people farms.

Yet another vampire flick bothers me a little, but the premise looks good enough to give it a try.

  1. I thought that I had had enough of the vampire movies/shows but Willem Dafoe and the premise may lure me in to see this one.

I do prefer the more supernatural kind of vampirism as well as another poster mentioned above but this sounds really good.

  2. Spoiler Alert!!! Spoiler Alert!!

The movie was amazing! I saw it at midnight madness at the Toronto Film Festival. Willem Dafoe had the perfect one liner but kicked ass. Ethan Hawke is a vampire who turns human by being exposed to sunlight for 2 minutes…and Sam Neil gets the coolest beheading ever. The movie has some nice shots and the cold blue colours work well. Nice amount of gore. The vampires start feeding on each other, since there is no more human blood..which then turns them crazy..I give it a 9/10
    Go see it in January!!

  3. There no seems to be no shame in over-exploiting a genre until it’s beaten dead and buried into the ground that you need to wait years before you can release another one without getting burned…

    1. I wouldn’t call it over-exploiting, but rather supply and demand. If there is a demand for it, then the supply will be made. Porn is a great example.

  4. Personally I hope another hundred vampires movies are made in the next decade. I can’t get enough of them. Some are good, some not so much. If your not interested, then don’t wast your time with it. Definitely not worth the time to type a complaint about it since the movies are obviously not being made for you. They are being made for me! :D

Personally I am quite excited about this, but I’d have rather they not resort to the “disease” thing. I like vampire stories basing the vampirism on a supernatural entity rather than a product of science or nature. This move looks pretty damn good, though.
