Vinnie Jones to become a TV Super Spy

Vinnie Jones is no master thespian, but his personality and attitude carry such charisma that he is a joy to watch. From a football hooligan in Eurotrip, to the unstoppable Juggernaught as well as some badass roles in Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Vinnie has made his presence known.

Now Mr Jones will bring his charm to the small screen starting with Chuck (a favourite of mine) and a new show with him as a James Bond type spy.

JoBlo shares:

The big guy is making his way on TV twice, first to guest star this fall on NBC’s CHUCK as a big-hearted hitman, and then on to his own series as a Bond-type international spy. The new untitled show being developed independently of networks
influence is based on an upcoming comic book by Howard Chaykin where the hero teams up with his long-lost daughter on covert missions. The plan is for an initial 22-episode order.

I would love to see this lug doing the superspy gig. The smooth secret agent thing would be a nice contrast with his “hands on” approach and cocky tude.

I just hope the daughter isn’t 12 or this might feel like Inspector Gadget instead of a cool spy show.

AWESOME! Vinnie Jones is one of the coolest British actors to ever live and it’s so good to see him get a new gig, or should I say gigs, like this. He blew me away in Snatch and hasn’t stopped since.

Haven’t watched Chuck in a while, but I gotta see this new episode with him. And as for him staring in a spy series based on a comic book, OH HELL YA! I wonder what network this new series will be on.

Very happy for Vinnie’s growing success, great news indeed.

  2. I wanna see Vinnie as a bad guy in either a Mel Gibson sequel to mad max or a complete reboot. Vinnie would make such a bad ass post apocalyptic bad guy, Much better than tina turner LOL….

Jones is a bad ass in anything he does. Well, besides X-Men 3…but I’m one of those people who actually enjoyed The Condemned.

    Great idea. I’ll be watching.

But when are they going to release “Spy Game” on DVD? The short lived series from ABC. Loved that series.
