Shane Acker’s Oscar nominated short film has been high on my anticipation list since I heard about the project. Now this weekend we will finally get our chance to see the movie.
Screen Rant gathered some clips to prepare you for this highly anticpated film. If you are not already hyped about the film, or wonder what all the buzz is about, this is your chance to check out some of the clips made available online.

I have a feeling that this movie isn’t gunna make alot of money. In fact I might go as far to say that I predict it won’t make much.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say it won’t make much..
But I would agree that there hasn’t been too much publicity about this movie on television or anything. I’ve seen maybe one trailer and a poster for it…but…yeah.
Then again, I don’t watch a lot of television or go to too many younger audience films as of late (where it’d be a trailer), so maybe the kids know more about this than we think.
Guess we’ll find out tomorrow.
Well, it’s been getting mixed reviews so far. Most of the criticism lobbied at it’s story.
I don’t think this will be overly successful in theatres. I don’t think there’s enough of a market for adult animation.
I think it’ll be just enough to get by, probably 30-40 M total in the US
I don’t get the hype for 9. But that short film was amazing besides those expressions on their faces.
But I’m sorry the actual movie itself I’m still not interested in. But every prediction by me of a film not being good has been wrong this year..
I am watching it tonight.
I dont care if my whole family dies.
I am watching it tonight.
That’s insane dedication man
It is indeed xD
But the taling while the movie was playing was extremely annoying. Too many people walking their kids out. Fucking distractng.
Wow. How was the crowd? As in how many people were there?
There was like less then 20.
I went there very early on a week day. And even so there where kids (wtf dont these bitches have school?) and they wouldnt shut the fuck up.
Im so glad I didnt take my little brother to see this
Not so much for the questions, i just dont wan him watching this movie.
I already made the HUGE mistake of taking him to Watchmen, i felt so bad. I covered his eyes in some obvious scenes =/
Having seen the movie before reading any of the reviews for “9″ I find myself baffled at the fact that criticism is directed towards the story. “9″ tells of the struggle of one man’s soul to correct his fatal mistake, and I think, successfully cuts out all of the fluff that would have bogged down this film.
I agree that the movie won’t make too much money. Maybe about 8 years ago, when the nu-metal, hot topic thing was really really in. But now I’m not so sure, it has looked pretty unappealing to me, but i’ll give it the benefit of the doubt
I saw a special showing of this last night and I was very disappointed. The beginning is pretty slow, which would be okay if the movie wasnt an hour and a half, and they never fully developed the characters like you would want. When something bad happens to them you find it hard to care. Visually it was great, there were some pretty cool villains throughout the film, but the story was very lacking.
I seen a special screening of this movie last week. It was okay..i was expecting it to be epic but the whole movie was kind of a drag. This huge machine monster feeding of the souls of these dolls and thats the whole movie. A big chase. The animation was pretty good but i wouldnt waste $12.00 on this. Its dvd watch for sure.
SAW IT!!
WOW.
Completely umpredictable, amazing, the story was gold.
I even shed a tear or two in the last scene.
Fantastic action, and a RICH moral to it. Needs to be not only enjyed, but we need to learn from it.
Oh and btw…
7 FTW!!!
Really? The looks pretty crappy. I guess I’ll have to see it for myself.
It was great. Everyone clapped, and by everyone i mean the 17 people that where there, i saw it at 1 pm on a wednesday…its never packed then
It was scary (it made me jump)
It was emotional (i did mention my crying and its easy to become attadched to the characters…especially 5 and 2)
Some parts where twistedly sick. Like…not for children…evil.
This is not for kids at all…there where 6 kids in the theater and they couldnt stop asking questions
“Why are there dead people on the floor?”
“where did he go! why is he gone!?”
“Did they kill him? is he dead? can he still be alive after that??”
“did he just make a robot out of a human skeleton!?”
“what does that mean? will humanitys intelligence lead our technology to doom us all eventually?”
JK about the last one, but these are 2 main flaws in the movie…MAIN FLAWS. There WILL be lots of kids with ther parents, who think this is a kids movie, and that means theres going to be lots of explaining by the parents. Lots of kids asking questions….this isnt “Toy Story”
The other one is that this movie isnt funny at all, if you like comedy, go watch something else, its got everything but comedy, there where 2 VERY FUNNY lines, but they where followed by twisted scenes! Like- they didnt belong there!
Its as if you snap a babys neck and then you say a classic joke.
If youre going to watch it, just be ready to get LOTS of talking durng the movie.
When you first walk in and yu see parents sitting next to little kids….you should say under your breath “Fuck my life”
I have never been a fan of anything Tim Burton, but I think if I do not see this I will regret it.
