First Look at MacGruber

With looming word that a big screen MacGyver adaptation was in the works, I was very surprised to hear that they were making a movie based on the Saturday Night Live spoof MacGruber.

Well we get our first look at the characters of MacGruber on set:

While I am curious about seeing an updated MacGyver film and how they would make it NOT cheesey, it seems MacGruber is going to cling to that cheese and add an extra layer. I like Kristen Wiig as a flavour supporting cast. She does make me laugh, but I don’t know that she could carry a whole film on her own.

While we are at it, I have enjoyed a number of SNL alum films (Baby Momma surprised the hell out of me), but with the exception of Waynes World, I have not cared one bit for movies based on the actual characters of SNL skits.

I fear MacGruber is just one more of those.

Come on! Blues Brothers? One the greatest musical comedies of all time. Not even subjective. Okay, yes it is.

The Blues Brothers is the best and is one of the best comedies of all time. Also, I think it still holds the record for most car wrecks in a movie.

If Krisitin Wiig is going to be wearing jeans that tight in this movie, I’ll be there with bells on.
