The book this movie is based on though really it's more inspired by was a childhood favorite. The movie looks lame to me compared to the fun story I grew up with. Honestly, I'm not a fan of most non-Disney Animation, non-Pixar animated films being released these days, and even my faith in the former was just recently renewed with last year's Bolt (which, simply for having such a powerful lasting effect on me, has topped Pulp Fiction as my favorite movie of all time). Sure, every once in a while, a brilliant movie such as Coraline will come along...but that's one of the relatively few exceptions from this decade. Having said that, this movie is the shit.
