Are you ready for Rambo 5?

Looks like the mixed reviews of John Rambo were at very least enough to pursue more of the aging military warrior fighting for the sake of the oppressed.
No longer hiding in some third world country, Rambo is coming home and the proposed idea will have Rambo blowing shit up while rescuing a kidnapped girl.
Film School Rejects shares:
The film will officially mark the fifth First Blood chapter. The story, from reports, will apparently center around a young girl kidnapped near the US-Mexico border. Because if you want human traffickers punished, you don’t send Mira Sorvino and Donald Sutherland, you send muthafuckin’ John G. Rambo!
While I grew tired of the Rambo franchise, the last chapter was at least in part a good successor to the series. Seeing a “where is he now” catching up with John Rambo years after the last film was interesting. But the film was not perfect.
Are they just milking the cow, or is there real potential for a renewed franchise?
Does this mean there will be another Rocky?

I have wanted to see another Rambo on US soil, a return to the low key quality of First Blood rather than the slaying of faceless foreigners style stuff of the sequels. the last scene of Rambo4 really made me want to see that.
As for Rocky, Sly said very often in interviews that the story was definately over and I believe that he wouldnt want to ruin that. Rocky Balboa gave absolute closure to that character, who is much more precious to Stallone I think.
i thought Rambo was great…i feel like (or at least HOPE) this installment will be the last of the rambo series.
I really dont think they would ever do another Rocky movie…Rocky Balboa wrapped things up and ended the series perfectly IMO.
Bring any weapons?… You’re not changing anything
words i live my life by.
I think Stallone has said a few times he won’t be doing any more Rocky movies, he only went back to Balboa because Rocky 5 was so bad, even in his opinion. Balboa wrapped the Rocky series up nicely.
The last Rambo was a very entertaining action film, short and sweet. But I would definitely like a return to the First Blood style of film, which was not just a solid action film, but a great standalone film as well.
I loved the last Rambo! I’d be interested in seeing what he does with this one. When he’s behind the camera, he seems to make the older franchises better. He finished Rocky on a fantastic note that was just as emotional as the first one. Rambo was brutal but the message about Burma was exciting and interesting and it opened my eyes to a lot of things. I got faith in Stallone and I’ll definitely hop on board for the 5th installment. And seriously, how much longer do we have to wait for an Expendables trailer!!?!?
seriously! ive been waiting since the movie was announced! cant wait!
not too much longer now…I keept seeing tons of production stills every week. the movie was already done filming too…fingers crossed! haha!
I was concerned going into John Rambo that it was milking the franchise. I hate when stories go on….and on…and on…But I actually liked it and thought they left him in a good place. I’d be happy if Rambo’s story was over, but I’d be just as happy with another chapter.
“Does this story have a point? Or does it just go on, and on, and ooooooooooon like this stinkin’ desert.” -Tall Tale
That’s how I feel right now. Sure, it would be interesting to see how Rambo could fit back into society, but that cancels out why I wanted to see #4: He CAN’T fit into society, so he lives life the way he knows; simple and violent. The only way i can see this ending is if he dies. But whatever. Ride that last whirlwind, Sly. Ride it hard.
To Rodney : Stallone confirmed that will never be another Rocky sequel. And I agree, because the last one tied up all the loose ends (if there were any) and it was clear that Rocco was too old to fight anymore. I can’t imagine a possible plot for Rocky 7. Just CAN’T.
Rambo rules, Rambo 4 life.
never sick of rambo. bring it on!
Rambo 4 was a great one…..bring on numbah 5 anyday!
As for Rocky, that iconic sonofabitch changed my life–I want him back, reasonable plot or not!
Me.
As much as I loved “Rambo,” and the character, I really wish they leave the franchise alone. “Rambo” ended perfectly for me: he made peace with himself and is coming back home. That last scene in the movie of Rambo walking down the dirt lane is how I think the series should end.
Cool. I liked Rambo 4, and I’m not even a fan of the series. I think it be interesting to see a fifth one.
i actually enjoyed the new rambo alot. i thought it was great action movie, and the plot wasnt terrible. i did dislike most of the characters, but i thought the location and action were excellent. im game for a new one
I wanna see more
Old action heroes never die; they just go on to milk cows!
Although it’s obvious that there are plenty of people who want a fifth outing, for me I can only see it as tapping a market till it runs dry. What we need is some new iconic action heroes rather than the old guys just keep on returning.
As for a further Rocky, no matter how much I loved the series the final one was a perfect ending and so churning out another would be an anti-climax,
I would love to see another Rambo flic. The last one was great… opposed to the continuation of the fairy boy in red tights (Spiderman).
Maybe Stallone should play Ramo’s dad!
