David And Courteney Cox-Arquette Doing Scream 4

Thirsty? Well let’s all go back to the well one more time! Yeeehaaaa! Get ready to scream again. There have been rumors and false hopes for years now about a possible “Scream 4″ film. Just last year there were a few false alarms. Still… the studio hasn’t given up on the franchise and kept pursuing options to get a fourth installment made. Today marked the first time one of the actual major players has confirmed that things are moving forward.

Both David And Courteney Cox-Arquette have confirmed that they are coming back to do Scream 4 and at the same time mention that neither director Wes Craven nor series star Neve Campbell have at this point agreed to come back, although they say they hope they both do. They also mention the script is being written as we speak.

The question is… what’s the point of doing the script if Neve Campbell hasn’t agreed to come back to the franchise yet? Do you make her part small in case she doesn’t do it and can write her out easily? For that matter what’s the point of doing Scream 4 without her?

Or for that matter… what’s the point of doing Scream 4 at all?!?! (source: Movie Web)

  1. i think they should get neve campbell to do it, i personally love all the scream movies and no all the words but what would another sceam be without neve? the main star? the last virgin? you know as randy always said if your not a virgin your gonna die. so like i was saying i think they should deffiantly make a scream 4 but deffiantly get neve to do the film also.

  2. Kill Neve Campbell off in the first scene. Satirize remakes/decade later fourth installments.

What’s the harm? Its just Scream. Nothing to complain about if they do fuck it up

  3. I personally was hoping that Neve would return but after they showed how absolutely messed up she was locking herself in her house and all paranoid in the last film, I would suspect that she’s already pushed too far.

The only way I would want to see Neve in the movies is if they made her the Killer. Have her totally snap and start killing people her paranoia thinks are trying to hurt her or invade her privacy.

    1. Neve was all paranoid and lived in isolation in the 3rd film. However, when the killer (her half brother) was killed she felt safe at last. If I remember correctly, the last scene of the movie had Neve leaving her door unlocked because she had nothing to be afraid of anymore.

    2. But the Killer is ALWAYS someone else. So it didnt make sense that she finally “felt safe” because all three times that there was a Ghostface it was someone different for some different reason.

How long before someone else has a reason?

Besides, the third movie made NO sense. At least in the first two they kept you guessing. In the third one they introduce a character in the last 10 minutes of the film, and say it was him. There was no way to figure that out. It was such a let down.

But at least there was Jay and Silent Bob.

  4. I totally agree. Neve Campbell is the life of scream franchise. Well I also like Courteney Cox,she might not be the best actress out there but she is decent. So, John, what do you think about this movie would be if they add another new cast as well as Neve Campbell.

  5. If doing a Scream 4 would interfere with The Philanthropist as Neve Campbell, as one of the stars of the show, I’d prefer Scream 4 not to happen. That TV show has been a pleasant surprise and hope it succeeds. On the other hand, I love the Arquettes and would enjoy seeing them in another movie together, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be a Scream 4.
